Spray tanning uses DHA (Dihydroxyacetone), a plant-derived ingredient from sugar beets and cane. When applied, DHA reacts with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin. This process is called the Maillard reaction, it creates a natural looking tan that develops over several hours.
Many tanning solutions include bronzers or dyes for instant color. The DHA itself is clear, so your true tan develops gradually beneath the surface, revealing a natural, radiant glow.

The safety of spray tanning depends on the products used, proper application techniques, and following established industry guidelines.
Temple Tan specializes in clean, non toxic spray tanning and teaches you how to understand solution ingredients, follow proper application practices, and perform the service as safely as possible while following applicable industry and FDA guidelines.
